Mountaineer Food Bank is a non-profit (501c3) organization that depends on donations from individuals to maintain our daily operations.  Through our network of more than 430 feeding programs we serve 260,000 people every month in 48 West Virginia counties.  There are a variety of ways you can help Mountaineer Food Bank.

The Food Bank is able to rapidly receive and distribute items throughout our network of more than 430 agencies.   In 1996 the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act was enacted to encourage donations of food to non-profit organizations, like Mountaineer Food Bank, for distribution to needy families. You can also turn a special celebration into an event to benefit Mountaineer Food Bank. One couple in the Eastern Panhandle hosted a “Hoe-Down To Battle Hunger” to celebrate a special anniversary.  In lieu of gifts the couple asked their guest to make donations to Mountaineer Food Bank.
