Usual
WHO:
Gubernatorial Candidates Joe Manchin and Monty Warner are joining
forces with Mountaineer Food Bank on June 3, 2004, National Hunger
Awareness Day
WHAT: This is
not politics as usual. Mr. Manchin and Mr. Warner will participate
on National Hunger Awareness Day in a “hunger strike” while each
meets with representatives of the Mountaineer Food Bank to find out
how they, if elected governor, could help further the Food Bank’s
mission “to alleviate hunger in West Virginia”. Mountaineer Food Bank serves
464 feeding programs throughout the State of West Virginia. Mr. Warner will be visiting
the Food Bank’s warehouse in Braxton County and Secretary Manchin
will be visiting Manna Meal, Inc., in Charleston. Manna Meal is representative
of the hard work and dedication of all of the feeding programs
throughout the state.
Following each visit there will be a short press
conference.
